Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain to state that he concurs

in the proposal to submit the question to the Oversea

Defence Committee for early examination, and that he will

arrange for this department to be represented on the

Committee when the matter is dealt with.

In accordance with Mr. Secretary Amery's

suggestion, Sir Austen Chamberlain has deferred the despatch

of the proposed telegram to His Majesty's Minister at

Peking.
